Weekend Notes.

What I’ve learned throughout my first weeks in New York City.

Continuing from last week’s post:

3. Network, network, network. It’s the only thing that will land you a job – or just about anything.

4. You can’t keep waiting for that perfect moment to make a change, for that perfect person to make you whole, or for the right city/apartment to live in. If your heart is telling you something, you have to pack your bags and go.

5. You can have you head in the clouds once in a while – but only if you’re able to come back down with your feet firm on the ground next time around.

6. It’s ok to dream.

7. It’s not ok to give up just because.

8. It’s not ok to become oblivious to reality. Shit happens. Life is unfair. We just have to learn how to deal with it.

9. The magazine industry is a magical world of its own. Those who are in are in, and those who are out will have to clim mountains to make it inside.

10. Magazine publishing is still my dream career. If life can take me anywhere near that one day, everything will have all been worth it.

“ […] These were not just magazines to me anymore, they were my creative outlets and daily inspirations. While it may have seemed silly to many, I couldn’t bear to throw them out, I knew that this relationship was too special and unique to simply throw away. This was my future.”
